History
Ducksnorts was created in September 1997 as part of Geoff Young's Baseball Pages, originally hosted on AOL and then Geocities. A more extensive timeline follows:
- September 6, 1997 — Ducksnorts born, as part of Geoff Young's Scoresheet Baseball Pages, with article on Hideki Irabu. Originally hosted on AOL.
- December 5, 1998 — First major redesign implemented. New color scheme, navigation structure, and mailing list introduced.
- January 1, 2000 — Site moved to Geocities. Second major redesign implemented. If you must see what it looks like, it's still there (and still ugly as sin) at geocities.com/gyoung858
- June 12, 2001 — Site moved to geoffreynyoung.com. Third major redesign implemented; Geoff's Baseball Weblog introduced.
- June 22, 2001 — Mailing list moved from ListBot to Yahoo!Groups.
- November 1, 2001 — Fourth major redesign implemented.
- March 20, 2002 — Ducksnorts.com launched.
- October 19, 2002 — Ducksnorts.com moved to new host, Myacen.
- March 22, 2005 — Ducksnorts moved to All-Baseball.com, using Movable Type platform. (Entire site and all updates previously built by hand using a slick text editor called Crimson Editor, aka Notepad on PEDs.
- March 5, 2006 — Returned to Ducksnorts.com, using WordPress platform.
